Care Tips for Your Wooden Pieces
Indoor hardwood benches and accessories need very little care, just wipe them off once in a while with a plain, soft cloth - this keeps the dust from dulling the finish of the wood. To maintain the original luster and shine, you may want to oil the wood once or twice a year with Linseed Oil (available at any home improvement store). Just apply the oil to a clean, soft cotton cloth and rub into the wood. When the entire piece is oiled, you may want to use a clean cotton cloth to wipe down the wood and to remove any excess oil.
Outdoor benches also need very little care - many clients like to keep the larger, rough-cut slab & trunk benches out all year round so they aquire the weathered gray look that is often desired. If you have a smaller, more custom-type bench - for example a walnut bench that you use on the patio or in the garden during the warmer months - you may want to store it inside during the winter (or any severe weather) to lengthen the life & beauty of the wood.
